Energy Bill Relief Fund
Ended 31 December 2025
The Australian Government's Energy Bill Relief Fund ended on 31 December 2025, so there is no federal energy bill rebate on bills from 1 January 2026. Rebates were applied automatically to eligible electricity accounts while the fund was running.

WHAT WAS PAID
1 JULY 2025 TO 31 DECEMBER 2025
- Up to $150 for households with an active electricity account, applied in two $75 quarterly instalments
- Up to $150 for eligible small businesses
2024 TO 2025 FINANCIAL YEAR
- Up to $300 for households, largely in quarterly instalments depending on your state or territory
- Up to $325 for eligible small businesses
2023 TO 2024 FINANCIAL YEAR
- $175 to $250 for households holding eligible concessions or receiving Family Tax Benefit A or B, depending on your state or territory
- $325 for eligible small businesses
Small businesses had to be under their state or territory annual electricity consumption threshold to be eligible.
